Behind the Picture – A National Set Medics Story
Alright, this one always gets a laugh—for two reasons. First, he’s practically naked. And second, he’s wearing the exact same fanny pack I had on in the “riffle” picture from an earlier story.
I originally took this photo because people constantly asked if the medics on Naked and Afraid had to be naked too. Naturally, we told them, “Yes!”—and followed it up by posting this picture.
The truth? We were actually working a series of bodybuilding competitions at the time. I paid one of the competitors $50 to stage the shot, and he was more than happy to oblige.
Between all the tanning oil and competition prep, getting tape to stick to his back was a challenge—but in the end, it was absolutely worth it.
